Tony Khan Discusses Warner Bros. Collision Deal

AEW CEO Tony Khan spoke on AEW’s Double or Nothing media call yesterday, where he provided details on many topics, including the new AEW Collision deal with Warner Brothers Discovery.

Khan confirmed that production of the new weekly series does not include an extension to the length of their existing deal with the network, rather it is just a deal to produce additional content during the same period of their existing contract.

NXT PLEs Won’t Directly Compete with AEW in the Future

WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels spoke yesterday on the NXT Battleground media call detailing several topics.

Michaels discussed Bron Breakker’s main roster potential, NXT UK plans and how those are affected by the WWE/Endeavor merger, the possibility of a midcard NXT women’s title, and about the timing of NXT premium live events in the future.

This Sunday, NXT Battleground will be directly competing with AEW Double or Nothing. Michaels stated this only happened because WWE is broadcasting Night of Champions Saturday night, so they moved NXT to Sunday.

NXT plans to keep their premium live events on Saturday nights for the foreseeable future.

Randy Orton Will Return to WWE This Year

Randy Orton will return to WWE action this calendar year, according to Ringside News yesterday.

Ringside News spoke with WWE yesterday while attempting to address a rumor that Orton suffered a heart attack recently. A rumor that WWE denied, saying Orton’s absence is strictly due to his back fusion surgery recovery.

The WWE source confirmed that a return date is planned for Randy Orton sometime this calendar year but is expected to be past the summer at the earliest.

Joey Janela Threatens Wrestling Vlogger with Physical Assault

The Bad Boy Joey Janela threatened wrestling vlogger JD from New York with physical assault yesterday.

Janela commented on a post the vlogger made, calling him ugly.

JD from New York responded, claiming Janela’s comment drew triple the Twitter interactions of any of his normal posts.

Janela then told JD from New York that he never contributed anything to this business, is an angry little sexist virgin dwarf and his every tweet makes Janela nauseous.

Janela then said when he sees JD from New York he’s going to slap him or worse.
