WWE Draft Concluded
The WWE Draft concluded last night.
Notable stars drafted include:
Universal Champion Roman Reigns, the Bloodline, RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, the LWO, WWE Hall of Famer Edge, and United States Champion Austin Theory to Smackdown
Intercontinental Champion Gunther, Imperium, Cody Rhodes, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, Women's Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez, Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Smackdown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley to RAW.
Brock Lesnar, Baron Corbin, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, Elias, NXT’s Xyon Quinn, Omos, Mustafa Ali, NXT’s Von Wagner, and Dolph Ziggler were identified as dedicated free agents that can work for either brand.
In addition to Von Wagner and Xyon Quinn being called up to the main roster as free agents, 16 other NXT Superstars were drafted including:
NXT Women’s Champion Indy Hartwell, Apollo Crews, and Zoey Stark to RAW
Grayson Waller, Pretty Deadly, and Cameron Grimes to Smackdown.
WWE Hires New Writer for Bray Wyatt
WWE hired a new writer for the Bray Wyatt character recently, according to WWE Executive Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James on his ‘Oh You Didn’t Know’ podcast.
James said WWE previously employed one writer specifically for Wyatt’s promos, as they understood the character’s voice and could quickly produce material for the Superstar.
Wyatt, who was never listed as eligible for the WWE Draft has been out of action since March, reportedly due to an undisclosed illness. There is no announced timeframe set for his return.
Britt Baker Defends Black Eye T-Shirt
Britt Baker took to Twitter recently to defend her latest t-shirt that shows a close up photo of her face, complete with a massive black eye she suffered in the ring two weeks ago during an attack by The Outcasts on AEW Dynamite.
Baker addressed criticism from fans that say the shirt appears to make Baker look like a domestic violence victim, and is therefore in poor taste, by denying that the shirt could support domestic violence in any way, saying that no one claims shirts showing bloody superstars supports murder, and that fans would not be this upset if a male superstar were to put out a similar shirt.
Gunther Gets Married
WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther married former NXT UK star Jinny in London this weekend.
Gunther announced the marriage by sharing several post wedding celebration photos on Instagram.
The couple met during their time on the independent wrestling circuit.
