Luchasaurus Mask Lawsuit Will Proceed
The judge in the lawsuit against AEW and Luchasaurus denied a motion to dismiss the case this week.
Composite Effect LLC filed the lawsuit late last year against AEW and Luchasaurus, saying the mask Luchasaurus uses is a modified version of their original creation, that they have not authorized AEW to use for merchandising.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics posted details of the case on Twitter, stating that AEW and Luchasaurus requested the dismissal because the plaintiff has not proven that the two masks in question are substantially similar enough to cause copyright violations.
Thurston says the judge essentially does not agree that the masks are dissimilar enough to approve dismissing the case at this point.
