AEW Pay Per View Numbers Doing Well

AEW pay-per-view event numbers are doing well.

AEW CEO Tony Khan announced on Twitter that last night’s Forbidden Door event is the largest grossing gate in company history, bringing in over $1.2 million dollars. That number would also make Forbidden Door one of the top 3 biggest gates in the history of pro wrestling events in Canada.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer also reported that AEW’s upcoming ALL IN event in London has sold over 66,000 tickets for an estimated gate of $8.3 million dollars. This number would make ALL IN the largest paid attendance for a pro wrestling event since WrestleMania 32 in Dallas.

Danielson revealed during the post-event media scrum that he suffered a fractured forearm during the match when Okada gave him an elbow drop with about 10 minutes left in the match.

Adam Cole missed Forbidden Door entirely, and his scheduled opponent Tom Lawlor was given a different match against Serpentico.

Tony Khan revealed during the post-event media scrum that AEW officials made a determination that Adam Cole arrived with an illness that was unfortunately too severe to allow Cole to perform and potentially spread that illness to other performers.
