Former RoH Tag Champion & AEW Producer Arrested, Terminated
AEW released producer B.J. Whitmer yesterday following the former RoH Tag Team Champion’s arrest for domestic violence and burglary charges in Boone County, Kentucky this month.
Whitmer, who is charged with strangulation in the first degree and burglary in the second degree, posted a $25,000 bond and was released yesterday.
AEW publicly addressed the incident by saying, “B.J. Whitmer has been terminated following his arrest on domestic violence charges. While talent and staff are ultimately responsible for their own personal actions, this behavior is intolerable within AEW. AEW has reached out to offer support to those impacted by his behavior.”

WWE Media Rights Negotiations Open to Bidders
WWE’s broadcast media rights contracts end in 2024, and the company’s exclusive negotiating window with its current media partners, Fox and Comcast, has expired, allowing WWE representatives to open up talks with other media companies who might be interested regarding new homes for Raw, Smackdown, and NXT.
A New York Post article this week says Disney is interested in securing the rights to broadcast WWE programming, however, they are not looking to add WWE to their ESPN lineup, but rather to air the programming on FX, to avoid WWE being preempted by live sporting events, which would take precedent on the network.
Other potential suitors mentioned by the Post include Amazon, Apple, and Warner Brothers Discovery.

FITE to Broadcast AEW Collision in Select International Markets
FITE confirmed this week that it will air AEW’s new weekly show Collision in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand as part of the AEW+ subscription package, which already includes weekly episodes of Dynamite and Rampage.
AEW’s new show has yet to find a broadcast home in over 40 international markets where AEW fans can only access current programing through streaming platform DAZN.

Mercedes Mone Has Ankle Surgery, Recovery Time Unknown
Mercedes Mone appears to have undergone ankle surgery recently, as the sidelined wrestler posted a picture on Instagram this weekend that shows her ankle in a cast, and a caption that reads “Day 6 recovery”.
Mone was slated to become New Japan Pro Wrestling’s first ever Strong Women’s Champion during the company’s Resurgence event, however she suffered an ankle injury during her tournament finals match against Willow Nightingale.
Mone then had to be carried backstage after calling an audible to have Nightingale win the match and the title.
There have been no official reports to when Mone will be able to return to action.
