Nick Aldis Leaves Impact Wrestling

Nick Aldis no longer works for Impact Wrestling, according to a report from PWInsider.

Aldis returned to Impact Wrestling in April after a public falling out with NWA Owner Billy Corgan, in what seems to be a short deal.

Nick Aldis lost his effort to win the Impact Wrestling World Championship over Alex Shelley at Impact Wrestling Slammiversary this past weekend.

Aldis has made no announcement on where he intends to wrestle next, but previously told reporters in April that WWE was interested in hiring him, but that the WWE/Endeavor merger put all new contract signings on hold at that time.

Rick Steiner Returns to WrestleCon; Apologizes for Previous Comments

Rick Steiner will return to WrestleCon after briefly being banned from the event following an incident last April where Steiner yelled derogatory and transphobic remarks at Impact Wrestling star Gisele Shaw.

WrestleCon banned Steiner from participating in further events that weekend, and indicated later that Steiner would not be invited back.

However, Steiner has now been announced for the WrestleCon: Destination Detroit convention next month, drawing huge criticism online.

WrestleCon owner Michael Bochicchio issued a statement about the controversy and stated that at no time then or after the incident does WrestleCon condone the remarks Rick Steiner made, and that he will be on a zero-tolerance status moving forward.

Bochicchio said Steiner issued an immediate apology at the event to members of the WrestleCon staff and performers in a private mediated gathering, one that Giselle Shaw chose not to attend.

Bochicchio said he completely understands and supports Shaw’s decision saying, “She had no obligation to hear anything from Rick nor should she ever feel obligated to accept any apology from him then or now.”
