Don Callis Attacked at AAA TripleMania
Don Callis was legitimately attacked by what appeared to be a fan after AAA Triplemania XXXI.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, The TripleMania post-show press conference featured a spot where Kenny Omega was confronted by Don Callis. This led to Konosuke Takeshita attacking Omega in order to continue their feud ahead of AEW Blood & Guts.
However, as security was breaking up the fight, a fan attacked Don Callis from behind, reportedly busting open Callis’ mouth, concussing Callis’ eardrum, and causing neck and ankle injuries. Callis was taken to a San Diego hospital for medical attention.
Later reports claim the fan was actually a member of the media, who was unaware of the planned spot with Don Callis, and mistook Callis for a fan, and that the attack was an attempt to secure Callis.
