WWE Releases Quarterly Earnings Report
WWE released their 2023 2nd Quarter Earnings Report this week, highlighting a handful of accomplishments.
Company revenue reached an all-time high of $410.3 million, a 25% increase and new quarterly record.
Both SmackDown and Raw saw a viewership increase of 26% and 19% respectively. Both shows outperformed broadcast and cable television as a whole, which witnessed a 12% decline.
WrestleMania, Backlash, and Night of Champions each established global unique viewership records with year-over-year increases of 29%, 34%, and 45%, respectively.
Live Event revenue increased 51% and witnessed an average attendance increase of 45% in North America.
Money in the Bank at The O2 in London became WWE’s highest-grossing arena event in company history, shattering records in viewership, sponsorship revenue, merchandise revenue, and social media activity.

The Elite Sign New AEW Contracts
Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, and The Young Bucks all signed new contracts with All Elite Wrestling this week, according to Sports Illustrated.
AEW Owner Tony Khan told Sports Illustrated that all four members of The Elite will now be in AEW for years to come.
In addition to their on-screen characters, Omega and the Young Bucks will remain Executive Vice Presidents, a role they have filled since AEW’s creation in 2019.
Matt Jackson commented on the signing saying, “If you were hoping this would be our grand exit, sorry to disappoint you. You’re stuck with us. We’re not going anywhere.”

Rhea Ripley to Miss Out on SummerSlam Streak
WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley was headed for an apparent title defense at this weekend’s WWE premium-live-event WWE SummerSlam, against Raquel Rodriguez, until Rodriguez was deemed unable to compete after being attacked on RAW by Ripley.
If Rhea Ripley does not in fact compete on SummerSlam, it will be the first time a WWE Women’s Champion will NOT compete on SummerSlam in over ten years.
The last WWE Women’s Champion to not wrestle at SummerSlam was Layla, in 2012.

Vince McMahon Served Search Warrant & Federal Grand Jury Subpoena
WWE released their 2023 quarterly earnings report this week which revealed more than just financial numbers.
Several updates to the WWE Board of Directors’ investigation into McMahons sexual misconduct allegations in 2022 were given, including a disclosure that McMahon was served a search warrant and federal grand jury subpoena on July 17th.
WWE CEO Nick Khan declined to comment on the matter but did say that the company is cooperating with federal investigators during the investigation.
McMahon is currently on a medical leave of absence from his WWE duties while recovering from spinal surgery.
